2 min read

It belongs to the Spike missile class. This infantry weapon is shoulder launched with an E/O guided system to increase fire accuracy.

Currently, this weapon has been procured by the USA and is under evaluation by the Special Forces arm of the US Army. Spike SR is highly rated which best explains why it was added to the list of weapons for the US Army’s Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE) program at Fort Benning.

During tests, this man-portable anti-tank munition was found to be highly dependable and showed great promise as a future hand anti-tank weapon. When you consider the great results posted by Rafael USA’s long list of technological achievements, it will not be out of place to believe that Spike SR will pass evaluation tests. The weapon is developed by a subsidiary of Rafael USA which is Rafael Systems Sustainment LLC.

Spike SR shoulder-launch design capabilities are meant to engage armored targets at a distance of about 2,000 meters. It is also very lethal against armor-plated platforms and its HEAT tandem warhead beats MBTs from a safe distance. Another thing that is fascinating about this system is its 6 second power up interval readiness which allows the user to engage fleeting targets immediately before they can get out of range. The handler can initiate the fire and forget mode for rapid fire while ensuring consistent strike accuracy against both stationary and moving targets no matter the time of day. Spike SR is very easy to operate and useful for high intensity conflicts.

The Spike SR is rugged while being lightweight and easy to use. It can be used in a range of environmental and operational situations wherever rapid and versatile response is needed.
